
A1 Plates have been selling car and bike personalised show plates since 1987. Having developed an interactive ‘design your own plates’ website in late 2009, they wisely decided to invest in advertising the site on Adwords.
After running it successfully in-house for several months, they decided to explore what further growth could be achieved through outsourcing it. Here’s what she had to say:
The Free Trial
The free trial was just brilliant – it’s a shame other companies don’t have this mentality towards selling their services because it worked fanastically for us and without it, I’m not sure we’d ever have been able to invest in Adwords as confidently as we have since then.
Within a month, we’d already seen sales increase by 50% so signing up for the full service was a no-brainer… and within 3 months sales had doubled. 12 months on we’re seeing 3.5x the number of orders coming through with cost per sale lower!
The Seasonal Slump That Never Came
Our business thrives on bikers who love to buy our top quality show plates. For years we’ve always seen sales take a dip when the winter comes – they’re seasonal animals. Last winter, however, there was no dip, sales just kept on increasing!
Spring is now here, the bikers are ‘awake’ again and sales are sky-rocketing to levels where we’re now pretty close to capacity. I never thought I’d have that problem but it’s great to have.
Generating Sales Whilst Building Our Brand
One of the great things that we’re now seeing as a result of such rapid growth in PPC revenue is a knock-on increase in our SEO and direct traffic revenues. Our brand has grown massively to the point where we’re genuinely well known in our industry. Repeat business is thriving and new customers are still being found… 12 months later!
